Both are owned by Alaska Air Group since September 2024. Hawaiian keeps its own brand.
Is Hawaiian Airlines in an alliance?
Yes. Hawaiian joined oneworld in April 2026, alongside Alaska, American, British Airways, Japan Airlines, Qantas and others.
How long is a flight between the islands?
Most inter-island flights take under an hour; Honolulu to Maui is about 40 minutes.
Do I need a passport to fly to Hawaii?
Not for U.S. citizens flying from the mainland — it is a domestic flight. Visitors from abroad need their normal U.S. entry documents.
What happened to HawaiianMiles?
It has been combined into Atmos Rewards, the loyalty program shared with Alaska Airlines.
Does Hawaiian have Wi-Fi?
Hawaiian's long-haul aircraft have Starlink satellite Wi-Fi. Alaska Air Group offers it free to Atmos Rewards members, so join (free) before you fly.
