Volaris FAQs

Is Search My Trip the same as Volaris?
No. Search My Trip is an independent travel agency. We help you search, compare and book Volaris flights, but we are not owned by or affiliated with the airline.
What is included in a Volaris fare?
The basic fare includes a seat and one personal item that fits under the seat. Carry-ons, checked bags and seat choice cost extra.
What is CBX?
Cross Border Xpress is a pedestrian bridge from a terminal in San Diego to Tijuana International Airport. It requires its own ticket.
Is Volaris in an airline alliance?
No. Connections with other airlines are on separate tickets.
Is Volaris merging with Viva Aerobus?
The two airlines agreed in December 2025 to combine under one parent company, and shareholders approved the plan in 2026. Mexican regulators still have to sign off. Both airlines are expected to keep their own brands, so a Volaris ticket stays a Volaris ticket.
Do I need a passport to fly to Mexico?
Yes, for international flights. Mexico's visitor permit is now issued digitally at most airports — check current rules.
Can I book Volaris over the phone?
Yes. Our travel experts can help you compare fares, bundles and bag fees and book for you. Call +1 (855) 447-1880 any time — we're available 24/7. You can also book directly on the airline's own website.
