Introduction

This Washington and Nevada Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice (this “Consumer Health Data Notice”) applies to residents of Washington State and Nevada regarding their Consumer Health Data collected by Search My Trip.

This notice supplements the Search My Trip Privacy Policy. It explains how we collect, use, and process “consumer health data,” as defined under Washington State’s My Health My Data Act or Nevada SB 370, as applicable. These laws are referred to in this notice as the “Consumer Health Laws.”

This Consumer Health Data Notice does not apply to the privacy practices of Search My Trip relating to job applicants, employees, or other personnel.

Our Collection and Use of Consumer Health Data

Search My Trip may collect the following categories of Consumer Health Data:

  • Dietary restrictions or preferences.
  • Mobility and accessibility requests, including wheelchair assistance or other special needs.
  • Information about health conditions, treatment, diseases, diagnoses, medical interventions, or procedures when needed to support refunds, insurance claims, accessibility requests, or similar requests.
  • Other information that may be used to infer or derive data related to the categories listed above, or other health-related information.

We may process the Consumer Health Data we collect in different ways, including collecting, accessing, storing, displaying, securing, organizing, combining, filtering, disclosing, and deleting it. We may also combine Consumer Health Data with other personal information that we collect directly from you or receive from other sources.

We may use this information for the following purposes:

  • To submit special travel requests on your behalf, including requests related to dietary restrictions, mobility, or disabilities.
  • To help process refunds, insurance claims, or similar requests.
  • To provide the Services you request.
  • To create anonymous, aggregated, or de-identified information for analytics and other permitted purposes.

Sources of Consumer Health Data

We collect Consumer Health Data that you choose to provide to us, or that someone provides on your behalf, when interacting with our Services.

We may collect this information over time and across our different brand domains and platforms.

Our Disclosure of Consumer Health Data

We may share the categories of Consumer Health Data described above with the following third parties:

  • Travel Suppliers: Airlines, hotels, travel insurance providers, car rental companies, and other travel suppliers may receive information needed to provide the products or services you book or purchase through our Services.
  • Service Providers: We may share information with service providers who assist us in performing services on our website or who process Consumer Health Data on our behalf.

  • With Your Consent or at Your Direction: We may disclose your Consumer Health Data to other third parties when you consent or instruct us to do so.

How to Exercise Your Privacy Rights

The Consumer Health Laws provide certain rights to consumers, including the right to access or delete Consumer Health Data and the right to withdraw consent, subject to applicable exceptions.

  • You may request to exercise these rights by emailing privacy@searchmytrip.com and following the instructions in our automated response email.
  • We must verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and we may retain a record of your request.
  • We may charge a reasonable fee or decline to act on a request if it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.

Appealing Privacy Rights Decisions

If we deny your request to exercise a right under the Consumer Health Laws, you may appeal the decision by emailing privacy@searchmytrip.com and following the instructions in our automated response email regarding appeals.

If your appeal is unsuccessful, you may file a complaint with the applicable state attorney general:

  • Washington: File a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
  • Nevada: File a complaint with the Nevada Attorney General’s Office.

Changes to This Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice

We may update this Consumer Health Data Notice from time to time, including any part of it. The “Effective Date” shown at the top of this page indicates when the notice was last revised.

Any changes will take effect when we post the updated notice on our Websites, Apps, or Services, as applicable. By continuing to use the Websites, Apps, or Services after the changes take effect, you acknowledge and accept the revised Consumer Health Data Notice.
